Hey! I'm TimberWolf, a goaltender. My favorite team is the Ottawa Senators and my favorite player is Grant Fuhr. I hope you enjoy the page.
The goalie is the most spectacular player on the ice. Covered from head to toe like a knight in shining armor he/she defends his/her castle, the net. Blistering shots are aimed at him/her from every possible angle imaginable, but that doesn't matter 'cause he's/she's got a net to protect. Through incredible acrobatics, strategic positioning, and lightning fast reflexes he/she manages to keep his/her little black nemesis away from his/her kingdom, most of the time.
The goaltender is the last line of defense, if he/she fails nobody is there to back him/her up. He/she is either the hero of the game or the chump who couldn't stop the small rubbery enemy.
So why become a goaltender; Some of the shots hurt, groin pulls, being blamed for losses, nobody to back you up. Some say we're just nuts, others say we're suicidal. But whatever the case maybe, I know one thing, it takes an individual with tremendous courage, heart and mental ability to play a position with that much responsibility.
